Performance
There are some differences in performance between the 2026 SANTA FE and the 2026 Murano. The SANTA FE has a standard turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of unleashing up to 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. In comparison, the Murano has a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that’s only able to generate up to 241 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. You’ll also find that there is a significant difference in towing capabilities between these two vehicles. With the SANTA FE, you’ll be able to haul up to 4,500 lbs.1 down Route 193. The Murano has a 1,500 maximum towing capacity. Another difference between the two vehicles is the drivetrain, with the SANTA FE featuring a standard FWD system and optional HTRAC AWD. Meanwhile, the Murano only offers standard AWD.
Interior
Besides performance, the 2026 Hyundai SANTA FE differs from the 2026 Nissan Murano on the interior as well. The SANTA FE has seating for up to seven passengers, while the Murano only offers enough room for five people. Besides this practicality, the SANTA FE offers higher luxury materials, such as the available Nappa leather upholstery. In comparison, the Murano offers available semi-aniline, which is considered not quite as premium. While both vehicles offer similar comfort features, such as available heated and ventilated front seats, there are some additions in the SANTA FE. For instance, in the SANTA FE, the driver will have an available leg cushion extension, which offers a little more support for those with long legs.
Technology
The 2026 SANTA FE has an impressive entertainment setup with a standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen and an accompanying Bose® premium audio system2 that comes with 12 speakers. Similarly, the 2026 Murano also has a 12.3-inch touchscreen, but its Bose® Premium Sound System only comes with 10 speakers. In the SANTA FE, you’ll also have a Rear Seat Quiet Mode, which allows you and your front passenger to enjoy the music without waking up little ones napping in the back seat. The Murano doesn’t have a similar feature. Another practical feature on the SANTA FE is an available 12-inch Head-up Display, which can provide directions to Lake Artemesia Natural Area right on your windshield.
