2022 Hyundai Tucson vs 2021 Subaru Crosstrek near College Park, MD
2022 Hyundai Tucson shown above with optional equipment.
If you’ve narrowed your sights on the compact SUV segment but aren’t sure which particular model satisfies your driving needs, we have the perfect set of wheels for you here at Pohanka Hyundai of Capitol Heights. When you consider the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, you’ll have access to a well-rounded driving experience that goes above and beyond similar vehicles on the market. To prove this narrative, we’ve stacked this model up against the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek to show the Hyundai model surpasses the competition in more ways than one.
Performance
If you’re looking toward a vehicle from this segment to fuel your wanderlust, then you probably place a premium on a performance-oriented set of wheels. The Tucson doesn’t skimp in this regard, thanks to the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine humming at its core. Grip the steering wheel and hold on tight, because this system is capable of dispelling 187 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. When you equip the standard 2.0L 4-cylinder system on the Crosstrek, you might fall behind the pack, because this powertrain is only capable of providing 152 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque. And, the available 2.5L 4-cylinder engine in the Subaru still falls short of the standard machinery in the Hyundai, because it’s only capable of delivering 182 horsepower and 176 lb.-ft. of torque. As you can see, when you choose the Tucson, unrelenting performance comes standard across the board!
Technology
In this day and age, it’s imperative to have a compact SUV that comes packed with the latest and greatest technology updates to hit the automotive scene. You’ll feel right at home in the 2022 Tucson when you reach out to the available 10.25-inch touchscreen in the center stack that allows you to tap into all your favorite multimedia features. You won’t be able to access the same type of clarity in the 2021 Crosstrek, because its available 6.3-inch display doesn’t provide the same amount of surface area. Staying informed has never been easier, because the Hyundai SUV boasts an available 10.25-inch instrument cluster that is fully customizable and showcases your speed, turn-by-turn directions, and driver-assist warnings. As for the Subaru SUV, the best you’ll be able to equip is an available 4.2-inch panel that might make things a bit difficult to read.
Comfort
Whether you’re traveling home from the office or heading to your weekend getaway at the University of Maryland Golf Course, it’s crucial that you can decompress throughout your travels. The Hyundai Tucson is poised to deliver peak luxury, thanks to the available 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat that provides peak flexibility for your convenience. You might experience aches and pains inside the Subaru Crosstrek, because the available 6-way power driver’s chair doesn’t provide the same amount of customization. You’ll also have the opportunity to stay nice and cool during the dog days of summer, because the Tucson boasts an available ventilated front row to regulate you and your copilot’s body temperatures. This is a feature that simply cannot be found on the competitor!
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson vs 2021 Subaru Crosstrek near College Park, MD, results in the former stealing the show. To put this model through its paces, visit Pohanka Hyundai of Capitol Heights during open hours.

“ ★★★★★ You’ll Want to Read This One to the End In June, my daughter was involved in an accident caused by an uninsured driver, and her car was totaled. Understandably, we were anxious to find a replacement as quickly as possible. We considered Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Ford, and Hyundai. After test-driving the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited, my daughter knew it was the vehicle she wanted. Since we live in Fairfax, we contacted and visited nearly every Hyundai dealership in Northern Virginia searching for a white Tucson Hybrid Limited with a gray interior. Unfortunately, several dealerships told us over the phone that they had the vehicle, only for us to arrive and hear that it had “just sold”—or, in some cases, learn that they had never had it at all and were simply trying to get us into the showroom. Sheehy Hyundai was the most disappointing. They assured us they had the vehicle, but after we made the drive and explained the exact color combination we wanted, they quickly dismissed us when they realized it was not on their lot. Every dealership seemed interested only in selling us something they already had in inventory. That completely changed when we arrived at Pohanka Hyundai. Rod warmly welcomed us and genuinely listened to what we were looking for: a white Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited with a gray interior. Instead of trying to convince us to settle for another vehicle, Rod and Luis Lemus immediately went to work locating the exact Tucson my daughter wanted. Within 30 minutes, they told us they had found one and could have it ready for us that evening. My daughter completed the paperwork and applied for 100% financing online. When we returned that evening, the vehicle was ready. We completed the transaction with Joann Nolta in approximately 10 minutes, and Rod was waiting out front to personally deliver the car. The entire process was professional, efficient, honest, and completely stress-free. Rod, Luis, and Joann turned what had been a frustrating search into one of the easiest car-buying experiences we have ever had. I wish buying a new vehicle were this simple at every dealership. Pohanka Hyundai truly earned this five-star review. ”
