The Hyundai Elantra 2017 combines style, sophistication, and functionality, while also providing award-winning features. Step into our state-of-the art showroom at Pohanka Hyundai of Capitol Heights, your local and trustworthy Hyundai dealer, and take a closer look at what this compact sedan has to offer!
The Hyundai Elantra always has your protection in mind and that is why it has been awarded a 2017 IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick+’1 when equipped with optional Automatic Emergency Braking and Dynamic Bending Lights. The Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection2 uses a camera and radar sensor to scan for vehicles and pedestrians. When an imminent collision is detected and the driver fails to react, the Elantra can apply full brake-force stopping power from 5 to 50 mph. Likewise, in the presence of a pedestrian in your path, the 2017 Elantra can utilize its full stopping power from 5 to 43 mph to avoid a potential disaster. For its part, the Dynamic Bending Lights provide you with superior visual capability as it allows the headlights to tilt in the direction that you’re steering, illumination your path as you turn around curves and corners, in order to avoid unexpected surprises.
The Elantra also has America’s Best Warranty™ for 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty3, which covers original owners the repair or replacement of powertrain components originally manufactured or installed by Hyundai that are defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Additionally, with the coverage of Hyundai Assurance Blue Link Connected Care, included as a complimentary trial for one year, you’ll have access to enhanced safety features such as Automatic Collision Notification and Assistance, SOS Emergency Assistance, and Enhanced Roadside Assistance. Plus, it will assist you in keeping your car in tip-top shape with the aid of Maintenance Alerts, Monthly Vehicle Health Reports, Service Link, and so much more!
You’ll appreciate the 2017 Elantra’s available Integrated Memory System that keeps two settings for the driver’s seat and side mirror positions—a feature exclusive in its class3! Another perk you won’t find in competitors3 are the available heated rear seats that give second-row passengers a first-class treatment. And let’s not forget the Elantra Value Edition, which adds stunning upscale features that would signify extra costs in other similar vehicles, such as a sunroof, a power driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, a hands-free trunk release, and a Homelink Mirror with Compass.
The impressive list of features goes on! And with the 2017 Hyundai Elantra awards in Capitol Heights, MD, you can rest assured you’re taking home a quality car that will last you for the long haul. NHTSA Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s New Car Assessment Program (www.nhtsa.gov/ratings). Model tested with standard side airbags (SAB).
*Based on model year EPA mileage ratings. Use for comparison purposes only. Your mileage will vary depending on driving conditions, how you drive and maintain your vehicle, battery pack age/condition, and other factors.
1. When equipped with optional Automatic Emergency Braking and Dynamic Bending Lights on models built after March 2016. Top Safety Pick+ rating based on a "Good" in the 31 mph side-impact crash test, 40 mph moderate overlap frontal crash test, 20 mph rear-impact test, roof strength testing, a Good or Acceptable 40 mph small overlap frontal crash test, and an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention performed by the IIHS. For details, visit www.iihs.org.
2. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection detects pedestrians, but not in all conditions. The system initiates full braking at speeds between 5-28 mph when a pedestrian is standing, or from 5-43 mph when a pedestrian is moving. AEB is not a substitute for safe driving. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.
Listed below are the conditions referenced in the owner’s manual where the system may not detect a pedestrian:
· The pedestrian is not fully captured by the camera sensor, or the pedestrian does not walk in the upright position.
· The pedestrian moves very fast.
· The pedestrian abruptly appears in front
· The pedestrian wears clothes in the color similar to the background
· The outside is too bright or too dark
· The vehicle drives at night or in the darkness
· There is an item similar to a person’s body structure
· The pedestrian is small
· The pedestrian has impaired mobility
· It is difficult to distinguish the pedestrian from the surroundings
· The sensor recognition is limited
· There is a group of pedestrians

“ ★★★★★ You’ll Want to Read This One to the End In June, my daughter was involved in an accident caused by an uninsured driver, and her car was totaled. Understandably, we were anxious to find a replacement as quickly as possible. We considered Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Ford, and Hyundai. After test-driving the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited, my daughter knew it was the vehicle she wanted. Since we live in Fairfax, we contacted and visited nearly every Hyundai dealership in Northern Virginia searching for a white Tucson Hybrid Limited with a gray interior. Unfortunately, several dealerships told us over the phone that they had the vehicle, only for us to arrive and hear that it had “just sold”—or, in some cases, learn that they had never had it at all and were simply trying to get us into the showroom. Sheehy Hyundai was the most disappointing. They assured us they had the vehicle, but after we made the drive and explained the exact color combination we wanted, they quickly dismissed us when they realized it was not on their lot. Every dealership seemed interested only in selling us something they already had in inventory. That completely changed when we arrived at Pohanka Hyundai. Rod warmly welcomed us and genuinely listened to what we were looking for: a white Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited with a gray interior. Instead of trying to convince us to settle for another vehicle, Rod and Luis Lemus immediately went to work locating the exact Tucson my daughter wanted. Within 30 minutes, they told us they had found one and could have it ready for us that evening. My daughter completed the paperwork and applied for 100% financing online. When we returned that evening, the vehicle was ready. We completed the transaction with Joann Nolta in approximately 10 minutes, and Rod was waiting out front to personally deliver the car. The entire process was professional, efficient, honest, and completely stress-free. Rod, Luis, and Joann turned what had been a frustrating search into one of the easiest car-buying experiences we have ever had. I wish buying a new vehicle were this simple at every dealership. Pohanka Hyundai truly earned this five-star review. ”
