2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz
It’s part pickup, part SUV, and all utility. At first glance, the 2026 Santa Cruz stands out for its
modern styling and open-air cargo space, courtesy of a 52.1-inch bed. As practical as this unique
vehicle is, it also lives up to its “sport adventure vehicle” title. The hallmark of the Santa Cruz
is its marvelously useful sheet-molded composite truck bed with its multi-functional tailgate,
roof-mounted LED cargo light, sidewall bed storage compartments, lockable under-bed storage, dual
C-channel adjustable utility track rail and cleat system, heavy-duty cargo D-rings, and integrated
rear bumper steps. Paired with the high-comfort cabin and abundant technology for connectivity and
safety, it makes for a truly appealing vehicle.

Trims, Powertrains, and Performance
Hyundai offers five trim packages for the ‘26 Santa Cruz: SE, SEL, SEL Activity, XRT, and Limited. The
SE, SEL, and SEL Activity are equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 191
horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard and all-wheel drive (AWD) is
available.
The XRT and Limited upgrade to a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 281
horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. These two trims are made only with AWD and offer the highest
towing capacity in the lineup: up to 5,000 pounds when they’re properly equipped (a Santa Cruz with FWD
can tow up to 3,500 pounds). Terrain Mode Select comes standard on all trims and includes Mud, Sand, and
Snow settings, while the XRT and Limited get a fourth mode labeled Tow. The EPA-estimated fuel economy
ratings for the non-turbo engine reach 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, but official
estimates for the turbocharged powertrain weren’t available at the time of this writing.
Standard Features by Trim
The SE is nicely set up with remote engine start, Proximity Key, stain- and odor-resistant cloth
upholstery, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, projector Bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED
taillights, four USB ports (two front and two rear), and 18-inch alloy wheels. The SEL adds roof side
rails, heated side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, simulated leather seating surfaces, heated
front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, and dual-zone automatic temperature control with
Multi-Air Mode and capacitive touch controls. The SEL Activity adds a sliding rear window, a wireless
charging pad, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, console-mounted rear A/C vents, a power sunroof, LED
bed lights, an integrated tonneau cover with T-slot utility tracks, and a 115V power outlet.
The
XRT has several exclusive design elements, including unique 18-inch alloy wheels, a dark-finished
grille, pronounced fender flares, and dark chrome accents across the front and rear bumpers as well as
the tailgate handle. Its interior is outfitted with black H-Tex leatherette seats and a leather-wrapped
steering wheel and shift knob. At the top of the lineup, the Limited is loaded with rain-sensing
windshield wipers, a dark-chrome accent grille, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a
heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, customizable ambient lighting with
64 color settings, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Driver-Assist Technologies
Every ‘26 Santa Cruz is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense suite, a robust collection of active safety
and driver-assist features. This technology grouping consists of forward collision-avoidance assist with
pedestrian detection, blind-spot collision warning, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver
attention warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, safe exit warning, rear occupant
alert, and high beam assist.
The XRT and above also get Highway Driving Assist, a blind-spot view
monitor, navigation-based Smart Cruise Control 2 with Stop & Go and Curve Control, and intelligent speed
limit assist. Plus, the collision avoidance system at this level is upgraded to detect not just
pedestrians, but cyclists and vehicles during junction turning scenarios. Only the top-of-the-line
Limited gets a surround view monitor, which offers a bird’s-eye perspective of the vehicle to simplify
parking and improve situational awareness in tight spaces.
Infotainment and Connectivity
A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard in the ’26 Santa Cruz. Its standard components are wireless versions of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth for hands-free phone use and audio streaming, HD Radio, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio. In addition, each trim is set up with access to Hyundai’s connected services platform, Bluelink+. The XRT and Limited add built-in navigation and dynamic voice recognition, along with access to Hyundai Digital Key 2 Touch and Hyundai Pay. A Bose premium audio system is found only on the Limited.
