2026 Hyundai Palisade
Hyundai has unveiled the redesigned Palisade, revealing a fresh look inside and out along with a versatile lineup that’s been shaken up in a good way with two new trims. The brand’s flagship SUV ushers in its second generation with the SEL Convenience replacing the SEL and slotting in just above the base trim. It offers a seven-passenger seating layout with captain’s chairs in place of the second-row bench, as well as a sunroof and wireless smartphone charging. In the same way, the XRT Pro has ousted the XRT as the off-road version of the Palisade, by way of an electronic limited-slip differential, an extra inch of ground clearance, recovery hooks, and all-terrain tires. The remaining trims carry over from the first generation, minus the Calligraphy Night.
Under the hood, a new 287-hp 3.5-liter V6 powerplant has replaced the outgoing 3.8-liter V6. The new Palisade is also the first-ever with a hybrid powertrain, pairing an all-new 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a hybrid motor system (output: 329 combined hp). It’s due out by the end of 2025 and will be covered on its own page.
The Palisade’s fresh look is defined by a squared-off silhouette with a wider stance and more upright body elements, a strong grille, and distinctive striped LED lighting at both ends, including new combination taillights. A longer wheelbase and a shorter front overhang provide improved cabin space, while an oversized center console combines comfort and storage up front and the rear boasts a roomier third row.
As far as interior updates with this redesign, most trims get a longer list of standard amenities. For instance, the Passenger Talk in-car intercom system is now standard, as are LED interior lights, over-the-air software updates, and triple-zone automatic temperature control. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, previously reserved for the SEL Premium, is now included on the SEL Convenience. At the top of the lineup, the Calligraphy now features first- and second-row relaxation seats that achieve “weightless neutral” positioning for maximum comfort, and the premium audio option is now a Bose audio system with 14 speakers (two more than the previous sound setup).
Trims and Powertrain
The 2026 Palisade can be chosen in any of six trim packages: SE, SEL Convenience, SEL Premium, XRT Pro, Limited, and Calligraphy. The power source is a new 3.5-liter V6 (output: 287 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque), which Hyundai pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) returns an estimated 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, while the available HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) will take that to 18 city/24 highway. The XRT Pro is offered exclusively with AWD; it achieves 16 city/22 highway. All Palisades have paddle shifters, plus a drive mode selector with Eco, Sport, and Hyundai’s customizable My Drive settings, while AWD models add a Terrain Mode selector with Sand, Snow, and Mud settings plus Tow mode. The XRT Pro is outfitted with a rear electronic limited-slip differential and an additional inch of ground clearance (8.4 inches compared to 7.4 inches on all other trims). The entire Palisade lineup is built atop a high-strength steel frame, riding on MacPherson front struts with coil springs and an independent multi-link rear suspension. Trailer sway control and pre-wiring are standard, and all trims have a 5,000-pound tow limit when they are properly equipped.
Standard Equipment by Trim Level
The SE has room for eight passengers, with manually adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split second-row bench with one-touch sliding and electric release, a 60/40-split folding third row, and cloth upholstery. It gets a tri-zone HVAC system with second-row climate controls and vents in all three rows, a leather-wrapped haptic steering wheel, a 4.2-inch digital information display, remote keyless and proximity key entry, push-button ignition, two USB-C ports in each row (six total), two 12-volt outlets (one front, one cargo), front solar glass, rear privacy glass, an acoustic laminated windshield and front windows, LED interior lighting, an underfloor storage compartment, and a cloth headliner. Outside, look for power-heated exterior mirrors with integrated blind spot warning indicators, door-handle welcome lights, line-pattered projector LED headlights with auto-on/off, LED daytime running lights, LED combination taillights, an LED center positioning light, a roof-mounted LED stop light, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The SEL Convenience goes to a 7-passenger layout by replacing the second-row bench seat with dual captains’ chairs and upgrades to H-Tex leatherette, heated 8-way power-adjustable front seats with two-way lumbar support, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless smartphone charging, a hands-free smart liftgate with auto-open and adjustable height settings, exterior mirrors with turn indicators, rear window sunshades, Hyundai Digital Key 2 Premium, and roof rails.
The SEL Premium adds ventilated front seats with four-way lumbar support, driver’s seat memory, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, HomeLink integration for the rearview mirror, power-folding exterior mirrors with memory, and 64-color ambient interior lighting.
The XRT Pro eliminates the memory driver’s seat, power-folding mirrors, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and HomeLink rearview mirror. It makes up for those deletions with a factory-installed tow hitch, a 115-volt power outlet, front and rear recovery hooks, XRT-exclusive badging, and all-terrain tires on 18-inch dark-finished alloy wheels.
The Limited returns to the memory driver’s seat, power-folding exterior mirrors, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and HomeLink rearview mirror. It also receives leather upholstery, a dual-pane sunroof, a power-folding heated third-row seat, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, acoustic laminated rear glass, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The Calligraphy boasts premium Nappa leather upholstery, an Ergo-Motion driver’s seat, front seat relaxation mode and leg cushion extensions, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, power-adjustable second-row captain’s chairs with relaxation mode, a UV light-sterilized center console storage compartment, and 21-inch alloy wheels.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Every 2026 Palisade is equipped with elements of Hyundai’s SmartSense driver-assistance and safety suite. The standard elements are navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Curve Control, Highway Driving Assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance alert, blind-spot collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assist with car/pedestrian/cyclist detection, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, forward attention warning, forward and reverse parking distance warning, safe exit warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. The SEL Convenience adds Advanced Rear Occupant Alert, while the SEL Premium upgrades to front/rear/side parking distance warning, rear parking collision-avoidance assist, and a 360-degree surround view monitor. The Calligraphy is fully loaded with Highway Driving Assist II, Remote Smart Parking Assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, built-in front and rear dash cams, and forward collision-avoidance assist with car/pedestrian/cyclist detection plus junction turning, junction crossing, lane-change oncoming, lane-change side, evasive steering assist, and driver oncoming.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Infotainment in all trim levels of the redesigned Palisade happens through a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The components found on every trim are wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, onboard navigation, over-the-air updates, dynamic voice recognition, Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth streaming. Rear-seat quiet mode can be activated to limit disturbing any napping passengers; Hyundai Pay and the Bluelink+ connectivity suite are standard as well. While the lower trims get a more basic audio setup, the XRT Pro and higher upgrade to a 14-speaker Bose premium audio system with Centerpoint and SoundTrue enhancement.
