Trims And Powertrains
The 2026 Ioniq 9 offers six trim levels to choose from: S, SE, SEL, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design. The S gets a rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD) that utilizes a 160-kW electric motor at the rear axle, producing 215 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. All of the other trims have standard HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD). The SE and SEL add a 66.1-kW front motor that combines with the rear powerplant to make a total of 303 horsepower and 446 lb.-ft. of torque. The Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design have a 157.3-kW motor on each axle, making a combined 422 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. A single-speed reduction gear transmission and a shift-by-wire system complete all three configurations, and each is equipped with regenerative brake-level control paddles. The powertrains deliver progressively quicker acceleration times: an automaker-estimated 8.4 seconds to 60 mph for the S, 6.2 seconds for the SE and SEL, and 4.9 seconds for the Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design.
The S leads the lineup in fuel economy, driving an EPA-estimated 335 miles on a full charge. Among the AWD trims, the SE and SEL achieve a 320-mile range, while the Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Design’s range is 311 miles. The S has a 3,500-pound tow limit, while the rest of the lineup can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The standard drive mode selector has settings for Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, and the customizable My Mode, complemented by a Terrain Mode Selector in AWD versions, which adds Snow, Mud, and Sand settings.
The Ioniq 9’s lithium-ion battery charges from 10 to 100 percent in 9 hours and 40 minutes using an AC Level II 240-volt charger, and from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes using a Level 3/DC fast charger at 350 kW. The Ioniq 9 has a standard NACS port, providing access to a nationwide network of Tesla Supercharger stations.
