Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
The 2025 Santa Fe rolls out of the factory in five trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy. Each is issued a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 277 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s married to an eight-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, the XRT comes with all-wheel drive, which is available for the other trims. The Santa Fe’s towing capacity is robust, too: while most trims can handle up to 3,500 pounds, the XRT boosts that limit to 4,500 pounds.
As far as fuel economy, the FWD Santa Fe achieves an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. AWD drops the highway figure by just a single mile per gallon. Due to its higher weight from its extra features, the XRT returns slightly lower numbers at 19 mpg city/26 mpg highway.
Standard Features by Trim Level
Even the base SE comes equipped with an impressive roster of premium features, including LED exterior lights, heated side mirrors, a hands-free power liftgate, and proximity keyless entry. Open the doors and you'll be greeted by a spacious seven-passenger cabin featuring stain-resistant cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split folding second-row seat, a 50/50-split folding third-row seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button ignition, four USB charging ports, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, and an underfloor storage tray.
The SEL upgrades to H-Tex leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, Digital Key, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, and roof rails. The extra-rugged XRT gets black H-Tex upholstery, black exterior accents, all-terrain tires, a C-pillar assist handle for easier rooftop access, and a sunroof. It also adds a 115-volt power outlet.
The Limited is equipped like the SEL, but with the addition of an innovative UV-C sanitizer compartment in the glovebox, genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a power passenger’s seat, heated rear seats, a dual-pane sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, manual rear side-window sunshades, a 115-volt outlet, Hyundai Pay, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and ambient interior lighting. The driver will also enjoy position memory settings and a heated steering wheel.
The Calligraphy includes the C-pillar assist handle and black exterior trim, along with Nappa leather upholstery, an enhanced driver’s seat with cushion extension and relaxation mode, second-row captain’s chairs (for six-passenger seating), a 12-inch head-up display, an additional wireless phone charger, a digital rearview mirror, and a microfiber-suede headliner.
Driver-Assist Technologies
Hyundai makes driving the Santa Fe as stress-free as possible by installing the SmartSense assistive technology suite. Its features consist of blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, front and rear parking sensors, rear occupant alert, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction turning detection), adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, and safe exit assist. Automatic high beams are standard as well.
The higher trims add even more safety-related features: the XRT and above receive navigation-based adaptive cruise control and highway driving assist, while the Limited and Calligraphy include side parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. The Calligraphy tops the lineup with enhanced highway driving assist, evasive steering assist, and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The centerpiece of the ‘25 Santa Fe’s tech stable is a 12.3-inch touchscreen that controls the vehicle’s infotainment system. Every trim gets wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD Radio. The XRT and higher add dynamic voice recognition. The Limited and Calligraphy upgrade their sound system to a premium Bose unit with 12 speakers. All but the SE are set up with Hyundai Pay, which allows you to pay for items like gas and parking via the infotainment system.
