2025 Hyundai Palisade
The Palisade caught on like wildfire when Hyundai introduced it in 2020. That’s because it had everything its target market was clamoring for: three rows of seating, abundant space, the latest connectivity and safety technology, and the choice of several tiers of standard equipment packages ranging from basic to luxurious. The 2025 edition shows some juggling of those trim levels, with the SEL Premium joining the mix, taking the place of the SEL as equipped with the optional Premium Package. The trail-themed XRT now gets a surround-view monitor and front parking sensors as well.
Trim Levels and Mechanical Specs
Your trim choices for the 2025 Palisade are SE, SEL, XRT, SEL Premium, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night. Their powertrain consists of a 291-horsepower (262 lb.-ft. of torque) 3.8-liter V6 and an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the default, but most buyers will want the available all-wheel drive (AWD).
Fuel economy is agreeable, with FWD Palisades estimated by the EPA to return 19 mpg around town and 26 mpg on the highway. The AWD edition is rated for 19 city/24 highway. A properly equipped ’25 Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Standard Equipment
The SE blends basic amenities such as fabric upholstery and manually adjustable front seats with niceties like proximity keyless entry and dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has push-to-start ignition, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with haptic feedback (as an extra alert for some of the safety tech), automatic LED headlights, heated exterior mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a sound-reducing windshield, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, underfloor cargo storage, rear-seat quiet mode, a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, five USB ports, and rear privacy glass.
The SEL gets even more: a wireless smartphone charging pad, a hands-free liftgate, Digital Key 2; H-Tex (simulated leather) upholstery, heated power front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rooftop rails, LED taillights, welcome lights in the door handles, and a pair of second-row captain’s chairs in lieu of the three-person bench. The XRT adds a certain style with black exterior elements, and a black interior. It also gets auto-dimming exterior mirrors a sunroof, and sunshades for the rear side windows.
Driver-Assist Features
The SmartSense suite of advanced safety technologies helps to reduce the likelihood of collision. Its components are automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, driver attention warning, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, car, and junction turning detection), lane following assist, lane keeping assist, highway driving assist, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, rear parking sensors, rear occupant alert, and safe exit warning. A surround-view monitor and front parking sensors are added at the XRT level; the SEL Premium and above also get improved versions of highway driving assist and forward collision system with evasive steering and lane-change assist, as well as a live-feed blind-spot monitor. The Calligraphy and Calligraphy Night get the loaded treatment with the addition of reverse parking collision-avoidance assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Infotainment and Audio
You’ll stay entertained and informed in the 2025 Palisade thanks to its 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The standard components are navigation, voice recognition, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Hyundai Pay is included as well, allowing you to use the infotainment screen as an interface to pay for driving-related purchases such as fuel and parking. The Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night trims get a Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers as an upgrade to the more basic audio system in the lower trims.
