Maryland Hyundai Talk to a salesperson about new Hyundai Models

While the Elantra sedan has been around since the early 1990s, the Touring has only been in the U.S for a few years. The midsize, five-door hatchback comes in two models, GLS and SE. Both models are notable for the long list of standard equipment, including six airbags and electronic stability control. Elantra Touring’s EPA-estimated fuel economy is 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway with the manual transmission. Good fuel economy is important to drivers in Maryland. Hyundai is committed to building economical vehicles without sacrificing safety or standard features.

Touring offers features that Fairfax Hyundai shoppers are looking for. Elantra Touring’s standard audio system is a 172-watt AM/FM/CD/MP3, six-speaker audio system with XM Satellite Radio, iPod/USB/auxiliary inputs. The Popular Equipment Package includes a telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, eight-way power driver’s seat, premium cloth interior and cargo cover. Cruise control is standard on GLS models with the automatic transmission.

The Touring is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine producing 138 horsepower and 136 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission. Elantra employs MacPherson strut front suspension with multi-links in back, along with four-wheel antilock disc brakes and stability control. Hyundai outfits the Elantra Touring with different springs, anti-sway bars and dampers than those fitted on the Elantra sedan.
